Carinthian Summer

Founded in 1969 in Ossiach, the Carinthischer Sommer runs through the summer around contemporary classical music, with an emphasis on Austrian composers. The abbey church in Ossiach is its historic venue, together with the Congress Center in Villach and, since 2004, sites such as the Konzerthaus in Klagenfurt. It has staged a church opera series since 1974.
