About
Founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, the Montreux Jazz Festival takes place each summer on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland, centered on the Congress Centre. Originally built around jazz, its programming has gradually broadened to rock, pop and blues. The festival has also expanded internationally, with editions in Franschhoek, South Africa, Miami, Suzhou and Yokohama.
