About
The Mono Núñez Festival has been held in Ginebra, a small town in Valle del Cauca, since 1975, honoring Colombian musician Benigno Núñez Moya. Regarded as the leading showcase for Colombian Andean music (bambuco, pasillo, guabina) and one of the most important events of its kind in Latin America, it was declared national cultural heritage in 2003. Open-air concerts on the main square, performer competitions and a lively food scene fill the town for the duration of the festival.
