Privacy policy
What GLOBE knows about you, why, for how long, and how to make it stop.
This page is published in a provisional version for the launch: it describes the site as it actually works today, and the passages marked [to be completed] are waiting on the publisher's own details.
Publisher
GLOBE - The Global Festival Map is published by Hans-Paul (Studio Volume). Legal form, registered address and company number: [to be completed].
Publication director: Hans-Paul. Contact: hans-paul@studiovolume.fr.
Hosting
The site and its database are hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. (Hostinger), on a server located in the European Union. Full hosting address: [to be completed].
Accounts
Creating an account stores your email address, the display name you choose, your preferred language, the festivals you mark as favourites, the editions you mark as attended or planned, and the artists you follow.
There is no password: signing in sends a one-time link to your address, valid once and for 48 hours. Only the hash of that link is stored, never the link itself.
This data stays as long as the account exists. You can export it or delete it at any time from your profile page: deletion removes the account and everything attached to it, immediately and for good.
Public festival record
Sharing your festival record creates a secret link showing your display name and the festivals you marked. It is not indexed and not listed anywhere. You can stop sharing it or roll a new link from the record page at any time.
Suggestions and submissions
Suggesting a festival or a correction stores what you wrote, the optional link you gave, the email address you may leave so we can write back, and a salted hash of your IP address. The hash serves one purpose only: limiting abuse. The raw IP address is never stored.
Logs and audience measurement
The web server (Caddy) writes technical access logs kept for 24 hours, then deleted.
Audience measurement runs on Umami, self-hosted on our own server: no cookie, no cross-site identifier, no data sent to a third party, no personal data retained.
Service providers
Resend (email delivery) sends the sign-in and verification links, and therefore processes the recipient address.
Hostinger hosts the site and the database.
Map tiles are served by CARTO and OpenStreetMap; loading a map exposes your IP address to them, as with any map on the web.
No advertising network, no tracker, no data broker.
Affiliate links
Some ticketing buttons are affiliate links: if you buy through them, this site may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. They are marked as such next to the button and carry a rel="sponsored" attribute. Following one hands your visit to the ticketing provider, which has its own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have a right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over your data.
Access and portability are served directly from your profile page (Export my data), as is erasure (Delete my account). For anything else, write to hans-paul@studiovolume.fr and you will get an answer within a month.
You may also lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL).
Legal basis and retention table: [to be completed].
