Festival Petronio Álvarez

Held each year in Cali, this festival celebrates the traditional music of Colombia's Pacific coast (currulao, marimba, chirimia, salsa choke) performed by groups from across the region. Founded in the 1990s in tribute to musician Petronio Alvarez, it has grown into one of the country's largest gatherings of Afro-Colombian culture, combining concerts, dance and local food in a lively, community atmosphere.
