Festivalbar

Festivalbar was not a festival tied to one location but a touring summer event that crossed Italian town squares from June to September, closing each season with a televised final long held at Verona's Arena. Created by Vittorio Salvetti, it crowned the song of the summer using an original voting system based on jukebox play counts across the country, spanning pop, rock and Italian variety music. Wide television coverage, newly discovered artists and yearly compilation albums made it a beloved fixture of Italian popular music for more than four decades, until it ended in 2007.
