The Seefestspiele Mörbisch, or Lake Festival, has taken place every summer since 1957 on a floating stage built right on Lake Neusiedl in Mörbisch am See, Burgenland. The festival specializes in operetta, occasionally staging classic musicals as well, and draws large crowds to one of Europe's biggest open-air stages. Its setting on the lake, with views across to the Hungarian countryside, gives it a distinctive character.
