About
Every June, Oerol takes over the Dutch island of Terschelling, turning beaches, dunes, woods and barns into open air theatre stages, alongside music and visual arts. Founded in 1981 by Joop Mulder, the festival takes its name from the local dialect word for everywhere, reflecting how it spreads across the whole island. Now one of Europe's largest outdoor theatre festivals, it draws around 55,000 visitors, with plenty of free street performances and concerts.
