About
Founded in 1958 in Sant Feliu de Guíxols on the Costa Brava, the Porta Ferrada festival takes its name from the fortified 10th century gate adjoining the old Benedictine monastery, the historic setting for its concerts. Initially focused on classical music, it later broadened toward jazz, rock and pop, hosting artists such as Lou Reed, Joan Baez, Patti Smith and Wynton Marsalis.
