Le festival
Ce festival se déroule à Christchurch, en centre-ville, sur cinq jours pendant le week-end de Labour Day, et rassemble des big bands amateurs et professionnels venus de toute la Nouvelle-Zélande. Organisé depuis 2006 avec le soutien de la Christchurch Jazz Foundation Trust, il propose plus de trente-cinq formations dans des salles du centre-ville ainsi que des concerts gratuits en plein air. C'est le seul événement de ce type dans le pays, mêlant jazz swing, ateliers pédagogiques et soirées dansantes.
