Overview
About
This decentralized art festival takes over Berlin's Neukölln district for a weekend each June. Founded in 1999 as a grassroots neighborhood initiative, it has grown into Berlin's largest free art festival, filling bars, courtyards and public spaces with hundreds of events spanning visual art, performance, theatre and music. What sets it apart is its open-door policy: any artist or resident of the district can take part, with no jury or selection process.
