About
Áak'w Rock takes place in Juneau, Alaska, on the ancestral homeland of the Áakʼw Ḵwáan people, and bills itself as the first festival of its kind in the United States dedicated to Indigenous music. Organized by the Central Council of the Tlingit and Haida Indian Tribes and the Juneau Arts & Humanities Council, it brings together Native artists from across the continent and beyond, spanning many musical styles. Launched virtually and later folded into the Celebration gathering, it became a standalone festival in 2023.
