Overview
About
AfrikaBurn takes place each year in April or May in South Africa's Tankwa Karoo desert, gathering a temporary community built around art, performance and radical participation. An official Burning Man regional event since 2007, it runs on a no-money, gifting economy and features theme camps, large-scale artworks (many burned at the event's close), mutant vehicles and live music. More than a music festival, it is an ephemeral collective experience grounded in self-reliance and mutual support among participants.
