About
The Alpenländischer Volksmusikwettbewerb (Alpine folk music competition), held every two years in Innsbruck at the Congress House and organised since 1974 by the Tiroler Volksmusikverein, is the largest cross-regional competition dedicated to Alpine folk music. It brings together several hundred musicians and singers from Austria, Bavaria, South Tyrol and Switzerland over four days, two of which are given over to the competitive rounds, and it awards the Herma Haselsteiner Prize.
