About
The Ancient Ilida Festival has been held every summer in Amaliada, in the Peloponnese, since 1991. Originally centred on ancient tragedy and comedy performed in the ancient theatre of Elis, it gained a smaller second stage in 2006 and now offers a multidisciplinary programme, with related events at Chlemoutsi Castle and in the town of Amaliada. It remains one of Greece's leading festivals of ancient drama.
