About
Founded in 1974, the festival was held in Ashton Court estate on the edge of Bristol, in a sloped clearing bordered by woodland. Free for most of its history and funded by donations, it offered an eclectic programme of music, dance, theatre and arts across several stages, including one devoted to world music, drawing over 60,000 people per edition. The event ended in 2007.
