About
B.A. Rock I, officially the Festival de la Música Progresiva de Buenos Aires, was held over five days in November 1970 at the old velodrome in Parque Tres de Febrero, in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires. Organized by Daniel Ripoll, editor of Pelo magazine, it drew around 30,000 people to see founding acts of Argentine rock such as Los Gatos, Manal, Almendra, Vox Dei and Arco Iris. It is considered the country's second major rock festival and the first to achieve real mass popularity.
