Barjac M'en Chante

Founded in 1992 in the village of Barjac, on the edge of the Gard's Cévennes, Barjac m'en Chante is a festival devoted to distinctive French chanson, deliberately outside commercial logic. Each summer, over six days and five stages, it brings together established and emerging French-language songwriters for concerts alongside talks, exhibitions and street performances. Run by the association Chant Libre, it has championed word-driven, independent chanson for more than thirty years.
