About
The Bickershaw Festival was a one-off event held from 5 to 7 May 1972 on a farm site in Lancashire near Wigan, England. Co-organised by Jeremy Beadle, it brought together the Grateful Dead, Captain Beefheart, Hawkwind and The Kinks for an audience facing constant rain and a site turned to mud. Remembered chiefly for the Grateful Dead's marathon set, the festival was never repeated.
