Blankets & Wine

Founded in 2008 by Kenyan musician Muthoni Drummer Queen, this Nairobi gathering started as a monthly open-air event to showcase emerging Kenyan artists. The idea is simple: festivalgoers bring a blanket, a picnic basket and a bottle of wine to enjoy outdoor concerts, in an atmosphere that mixes music, fashion and food. The concept has since expanded to Uganda and Rwanda, while Nairobi now hosts several editions a year.
