Canmore Folk Music Festival

Founded in 1978 by Michael and Judy Vincent, the Canmore Folk Music Festival is Alberta's longest-running folk festival. Held every summer over three outdoor days at Centennial Park in the heart of Canmore, in the Canadian Rockies, it brings together folk, Celtic, bluegrass, blues, gospel and world music. Run by more than 600 volunteers, it draws crowds far larger than the town's own population and has hosted main-stage acts including Bruce Cockburn, Buffy Sainte-Marie and Ian Tyson.
