Overview
About
Chale Wote is a street festival held in the historic James Town and Osu districts of Accra, Ghana, running since 2011 and organized by Accra dot Alt. Beyond its street art, graffiti and mural painting, the festival includes a music block party, live performances, spoken word and theater, turning Accra's old streets into an open air stage. Its name, meaning roughly 'friend, let's go' in Ga, reflects its community roots as a grassroots gathering that has grown into one of West Africa's best known art and culture events.
