Overview
About
Eritaj, Living Memories takes place in Petit-Canal, Guadeloupe, at the foot of the Marches des Esclaves, a site symbolising the end of slavery. Each year the festival commemorates the date of May 27, 1848, with several days of concerts, performances, talks, exhibitions and craft stalls centred on memory, resistance and Afro-Caribbean heritage. It draws large family crowds who come to honour their ancestors and discover Guadeloupean culture.
