Overview
About
Founded in 1988 by Ferrara musician Stefano Bottoni, who still serves as artistic director, the festival has grown into the largest gathering of street musicians in the world. Each year in late August, the streets and squares of Ferrara's historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site, host hundreds of performers from many countries, free of charge and in the open air.
