About
Born in 1970 in Lambesc, in the Bouches-du-Rhône, as France's very first folk music festival, the event was revived in 2009 by the local Comité Officiel des Fêtes. Each summer, on a shaded square ringed by historic buildings, it offers folk dances, traditional dance workshops and a musical procession, all free and open to the public. Its heritage, tracing back to a 1970 appearance by Alan Stivell, makes it a distinctive gathering for traditional music.
