About
Cerbul de Aur (Golden Stag Festival) is an international popular song contest and festival launched in 1968 and staged in Piața Sfatului, the main square of Brașov, Romania. Banned after 1971 under the communist regime, it resumed after 1992 and has since gone through several funding-related hiatuses, most recently returning in 2018. Broadcast live on Romanian public television, it remains one of the country's best-known song contests.
