Festival Contrastes

The Contrasts festival (Kontrasty) has been held in Lviv, Ukraine, every autumn since its founding in 1995 by conductor Roman Revakovych, composer Yuri Lanyuk and musicologist Yarema Yakubyak. Staged at the Lviv National Philharmonic, it is devoted to contemporary classical music, presenting premieres and new works by Ukrainian and foreign composers alongside twentieth century classics. It ranks among the country's leading contemporary music festivals.
