About
The Isle of Wight Festival continues the gatherings held on the island between 1968 and 1970, whose 1970 edition drew several hundred thousand attendees for Jimi Hendrix, The Who and The Doors. Revived in 2002 by promoter John Giddings at Seaclose Park in Newport, it has since featured a lineup geared toward mainstream rock and pop.
