Festival da Povoação

Festival da Povoação is held each summer in the municipality of Povoação, on São Miguel island in the Azores, organized by the local youth association. Over several days it combines concerts by Portuguese artists, fado and electronic music, folk marches, and sports and food activities. It is a major summer gathering for community life in this eastern part of the island.
