Festival de Bandas

The Festival de Bandas fills the streets, squares and shops of Martel, in the Lot, each year with several bandas, brass, woodwind and percussion ensembles in the Spanish fanfare tradition, parading and performing through the village. The participating groups compete in friendly fashion for the "Marteaux d'or" (Golden Hammers). The event runs over a weekend, with entertainment, shared meals and concerts running late into the night.
