About
The CECUT's Día de Muertos festival, also known as the Fiesta de las Ánimas, takes place on the center's esplanade around November 2nd and brings together dance, music, theater, food and popular traditions tied to the Mexican cult of the dead. The program includes ofrendas (altars), a Catrina parade, folk dances, choral and symphonic concerts, and performances drawing on Mexican beliefs about death, such as the Mictlán show. Admission is free and the event draws a wide family audience from the border region.
