About
Festival de la Solidaridad Latinoamericana took place on 16 May 1982 at the Obras Sanitarias sports ground in Buenos Aires, during the Falklands War, under the slogan 'mucho rock por algo de paz' (much rock for some peace). Around 70,000 people watched major figures of Argentine rock nacional perform, including Luis Alberto Spinetta, Charly García, León Gieco, Pappo and David Lebón. The event marked a turning point in the mainstream acceptance of Argentine rock after years of suspicion under the dictatorship.
