Festival de Música Barroca de Santa Cruz

This international festival of Renaissance and Baroque music takes place each year in Santa Cruz de la Sierra as well as in the former Jesuit missions of the Chiquitania region and in Tarija, Bolivia. Organized by the Asociación Pro Arte y Cultura (APAC) since the late 1990s, it showcases the musical heritage rediscovered in the archives of the Chiquitos and Moxos missions, with ensembles coming from many countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. Concerts are held in historic churches and public squares, blending European sacred music with works by colonial-era indigenous composers.
