About
The Viña del Mar International Song Festival takes place every February at the Quinta Vergara amphitheater in the Chilean city of Viña del Mar. Founded in 1960 to promote local tourism, it has grown into the largest Spanish-language music festival in the world and one of the longest-running festivals still active, combining a song competition with performances by established artists across genres such as pop, rock, ballad, folk and reggaeton. Its shell-shaped stage and huge audiences have made it a landmark event of Latin American popular music.
