Festival del Cantar Mexicano

The Festival del Cantar Mexicano Guadalupe del Carmen takes place in Chanco, in Chile's Maule region, at the town's rodeo arena (medialuna). Organized by the local municipality since the late 1980s in tribute to local singer Guadalupe del Carmen, it celebrates Mexican-style music, ranchera, tropical and popular tunes performed by Chilean and Latin American artists. It has grown into an annual regional tradition that draws large crowds each summer.
