About
The Festival di Castrocaro, also known as Voci Nuove Volti Nuovi, is an Italian singing contest founded in 1957 in the spa town of Castrocaro Terme, in Emilia-Romagna, on the initiative of Natale Graziani. Long linked to the Sanremo Festival, it launched the careers of numerous Italian pop singers, from Gigliola Cinquetti to Zucchero, Fiorella Mannoia and Michele Zarrillo. It remains a showcase for emerging voices today, broadcast on Italian television.
