About
Held every year in Ibagué, known as Colombia's 'musical capital,' this festival traditionally opens the country's main cultural season around the feasts of Saint John and Saint Peter. Plazas and parks across the city turn into performance spaces for traditional Andean rhythms such as sanjuanero, bambuco and pasillo, played by dancers and musicians from across the country. Rather than spotlighting a single region, the event creates a national stage where multiple Colombian musical identities meet.
