Festival Internacional de Folclore de Nova Petrópolis

Held in the hills of Nova Petrópolis, in Rio Grande do Sul, this festival brings together dozens of folk groups from several countries as well as from across Brazil for parades, dances and performances in traditional costume. Entirely free, it turns the whole town, from schools to public squares, into a stage for cultural exchange built around music, dance and food. Long-running, it now numbers in its fifties of editions.
