About
The Saint-Louis International Jazz Festival takes place every year in the historic town of Saint-Louis, Senegal, across several venues including outdoor stages. Born from local editions in 1991 and 1992, it went international in 1993 and has since become one of the major jazz gatherings on the African continent, hosting both international names and Senegalese musicians such as kora player Ablaye Cissoko. The atmosphere of the old colonial town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, adds to its distinct character.
