Festival La Notte della Taranta

La Notte della Taranta was born in 1998 in Salento, Puglia, centered on pizzica, the folk dance and music tied to the old tarantism ritual. The festival tours villages of Grecìa Salentina throughout the summer before culminating in Melpignano at a grand closing concert that draws tens of thousands of people until dawn. It now ranks among Europe's largest traditional folk music festivals.
