Festival Médard Ferrero

The Festival Médard Ferrero, held at the Espace Culturel du Parc in Drancy near Paris, pays tribute to accordionist Médard Ferrero, a native of the town and author of a landmark teaching method still used today. Since 2006 it has grown into an event of national standing under the artistic direction of Sergio Tomassi, running every two years with a different theme each time (the Russian accordion school, women accordionists, musical comedy, and so on). The programme ranges across jazz, musette and classical music, with an evening dedicated to teaching in partnership with Drancy's music conservatory.
