About
The Festival Nacional de la Música Colombiana takes place every March in Ibagué, known as Colombia's musical capital. Born in 1987 as a tribute to the duo Garzón y Collazos, it was declared national cultural and artistic heritage in 2003. It brings together the national duet competition Príncipes de la Canción and the national composition competition Leonor Buenaventura, alongside university gatherings and activities for young audiences, all centered on traditional Colombian music such as bambuco, pasillo and guabina.
