Festival nazionale di musica leggera di Mamaia

The Mamaia National Light Music Festival has been held every summer at the Summer Theatre in the Romanian seaside resort of Mamaia since it was founded in 1963. Originally conceived as a songwriting competition, it evolved over the decades, notably adding a hit-songs section in 1991, and became a key showcase for Romanian pop music. Major artists such as Margareta Pâslaru, Dan Spătaru, Angela Similea, Corina Chiriac and Loredana Groza built part of their careers there.
