Overview
About
Festival Omladina, or Youth Festival, is a music festival founded in 1961 in Subotica, Serbia, originally as a competition for young composers of popular songs. Rock bands gradually replaced pop singers as performers, and by the 1980s the festival had become a competitive showcase for young rock acts, hosting some of the most notable names of the Yugoslav pop and rock scene. It ceased in 1990 as Yugoslavia began to break apart, but was revived in 2012 and continues that spirit of musical discovery.
