Festival Taragalte

Festival Taragalte takes place in M'Hamid El Ghizlane, at the edge of the Erg Chigaga dunes in southern Morocco, around the end of the date harvest season. It celebrates the music and traditions of the Sahara's nomadic peoples through under-the-stars concerts, dance, craft and exchanges with local, regional and international artists. More than a music event, it stands as an advocacy effort for preserving a threatened desert way of life, driven by the M'Hamid community.
