Gamboa Festival

The Festival da Gamboa is held over three consecutive days on Gamboa beach in Praia, the capital of Cabo Verde, around the month of May. Established in 1992 and folded into the city's municipal festivities from 1993 onward, it draws roughly 20,000 spectators each edition and showcases Cabo Verdean music, from funaná to coladeira, alongside diaspora artists. It ranks among the country's largest popular music gatherings, with acts like Os Tubarões, Tabanka Djaz and Nelson Freitas among its regular performers.
