Global Citizen Festival

Launched in 2012 by the Global Poverty Project, this festival takes place on the Great Lawn of Central Park in New York, timed to coincide with the United Nations General Assembly held in the city. Admission is free, earned through advocacy actions against extreme poverty on the organization's app. The lineup combines pop, hip hop or rock headliners with appearances by world leaders and activists.
