Habaneras de Calella de Palafrugell

Founded in 1966 after a gathering of singers at the Can Batlle tavern, the Cantada d'Havaneres of Calella de Palafrugell brings together groups performing the havanera, a traditional song tied to Catalan sailors who sailed to Cuba in the 19th century. Concerts happen outdoors, at the harbour and small beach of this Costa Brava village, accompanied by cremat, a flambeed rum drink from this maritime culture.
