Havana Jam

Havana Jam was a three day music festival held in March 1979 at the Karl Marx Theater in Havana, Cuba. Backed by Columbia Records, Fania Records and Cuba's Ministry of Culture, it brought American and Cuban musicians together on the same stage for the first time in decades, amid a brief diplomatic thaw under the Carter administration. The bill spanned jazz and pop, featuring Weather Report, the Fania All-Stars, Stephen Stills, Kris Kristofferson and Billy Joel.
