About
Founded in 1991 in San Juan to honor Cuban saxophonist Paquito D'Rivera and support the Inter-American University's jazz program, the Heineken JazzFest has grown into the Caribbean's leading jazz festival. It is now held at the Tito Puente Amphitheatre in the Hato Rey district, presenting Latin jazz nightly over several days with both Puerto Rican and international musicians. Over the years it has featured figures such as Alex Acuña, Abraham Laboriel, Humberto Ramírez and Giovanni Hidalgo.
